Please give us a short summary of your website?
Shadid & Associates offers legal services related to real estate investments in Costa Rica and Central America. The website has a brief description of the law firm (goals, vision, history) and the reasons why an investor should consider hiring the firm when doing business in Costa Rica. Also, there is a contact form and complete address and telephone number.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Although well-known locally, Shadid & Associates needs a way to be found and contacted by potential investors who are interested in Costa Rica.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This website was launched in November 2007. The first version was similar to this one, but with somewhat less information.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Corporate and Investment Lawyers in Costa Rica describes the most appropriate services our company is offering English-speaking investors.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Our website explains our services in much greater detail than competition websites.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
The website's goal is to allow potential investors to find our company and decide if they want to hire us.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Excellent ROI. In total we have spent less than $1000 and are already getting good leads and clients.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We want to put in a chat box so prospective clients can have their questions answered online. We also want a section that has reference papers related to construction permits and the like. We are already working on this.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
We would upgrade to a more powerful server and the people that service the website would start working full time instead of part time.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
On the contrary, the website development and results have so far been better than expected.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Some of our competitors that have less information are, in some instances, getting better placement with the search engines.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Just publishing it has brought unexpected visitors. We then did some optimization for search engines and that seemed to work very well in getting more new contacts.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It has not been different than we expected.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The website has been up for more than 6 months. It is a part of our corporate identity and even if there is no revenue directly from it, we need to keep it updated.
