'Transforming to a Tica'

Expats originally come to Costa Rica for the beaches, the warm sun, the tasty food, and the Spanish. After a while, though, your duty is more than that. It's already a matter of self-transformation, a matter of looking for your inner self, a matter of being one with the locales--being a Tica yourself.

Will one year be enough for this transformation? It varies from person to person, of course, but let's hear it anyway from one of the expats.
