Cell Phone Scam Story

This forum poster narrates how he lost his Blackberry in Costa Rica. He tried to call his phone and somebody answered on the other line and wish to have a finder's fee. What's wrong with this scenario? Definitely, it is a scam. The person who claims to have found the phone must have been the one who stole it.

It is incidents like this which tells me to just buy a less expensive cell phone. If you can't keep it safe, even if it's lost or stolen, it would not be a such a big deal.
